Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1289480 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover bolts and the nuts.
  3. Remove the engine cover.

    4. Object Number: 1289481 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
  5. Remove the timing belt front cover. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement.
  6. Remove the CMP sensor bolts.
  7. Remove the CMP sensor from the top.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1289481 Size: SH
  1. Install the CMP sensor with the bolts and tighten to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

    2. Object Number: 1289480 Size: SH
  2. Install the timing bolt front cover. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement.
  3. Connect the CMP sensor electrical connector.
  4. Install the engine cover.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
