Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1701063 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover.
  3. Disconnect the sensor electrical connector.
  4. Remove the timing belt front cover. Refer to Timing Belt Cover Replacement.

    5. Object Number: 1701065 Size: SH
  5. Remove the camshaft position (CMP) sensor bolts.
  6. Remove the CMP sensor from the top.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1701065 Size: SH
  1. Install the CMP sensor using the bolts and tighten to 6.5 N·m (58 lb in).

    2. Object Number: 1701063 Size: SH
  2. Install the timing belt front cover, the crankshaft pulley, the accessory drive belt, and the air filter. Refer to Timing Belt Cover Replacement.
  3. Connect the sensor electrical connector.
  4. Install the engine cover.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
