Circuit | Short to Ground | Open/High Resistance | Short to Voltage | Signal Performance |
---|---|---|---|---|
Ignition 1 Voltage | P0661 | P0661 | -- | -- |
IMT Valve Control Circuit | P0661 | P0661 | P0662 | -- |
An ignition 1 voltage is supplied to the intake manifold tuning (IMT) valve solenoid. The engine control module (ECM) controls the IMT valve solenoid by grounding the control circuit via an internal driver switch. The primary function of the driver is to supply ground for the IMT valve solenoid. The ECM can determine if the control circuit is open, shorted to ground, or shorted to a voltage by monitoring the voltage on the control circuit.
• | The ignition is ON. |
• | The DTCs run continuously once the above condition is met. |
The ECM detects that the commanded state of the driver and the actual state of the control circuit do not match.
DTCs P0661 and P0662 are Type A DTCs.
DTCs P0661 and P0662 are Type A DTCs.

⇒ | If less than B+, repair the ignition 1 voltage circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. Replace the fuse, if necessary. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to ground. If circuit tests normal, replace the ECM. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM. |
