Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement 3.6L Engine

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.6L
  3. Remove the radiator air baffle and deflector. Refer to Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.
  4. Remove the mass air flow sensor. Refer to Mass Airflow Sensor with Intake Air Temperature Sensor Replacement.
  5. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.
  6. Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Radiator Cap Removal Caution in the Preface section.

  7. Ensure engine is below 50 C before removing the coolant pressure cap.

  8. Object Number: 1949755  Size: SH
  9. Remove the retaining hose clamps (1) back on the inlet hose (2) at both ends.
  10. Important: If inlet hose (2) is not being replaced leave retaining clamp's (1) attached to hose.

  11. Remove the inlet hose (2) at both ends.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Install the inlet hose (2).
  2. Secure the inlet hose (2) at both ends, by opening the retaining hose clamps (1) and sliding them over the hose (2).
  3. Install the mass air flow meter. Refer to Mass Airflow Sensor with Intake Air Temperature Sensor Replacement.
  4. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.
  5. Install the radiator air baffle and deflector. Refer to Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.
  6. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.6L.
  7. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  8. Inspect cooling system for leaks.
