Transmission Mount Replacement LHD
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.
Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
Important: The engine mounts must NOT bend or deflect
from the vertical position, damage to the mount will occur.
- Support the transmission with a transmission jack.
Important: Before removing the transmission support
bracket, scribe or mark the location of the support bracket to the frame rails.
- Remove the retaining nuts (3) that
secures the mount (1) to the transmission support (4).
- Remove the retaining bolts (2) that secure the transmission support (4)
to the vehicle.
- Remove the transmission support (4) from the vehicle.
- Remove the retaining bolts (5) and retaining nuts (6) that
secure the mount (1) to the transmission.
- Remove the mount (1) from the transmission.
Installation Procedure
Important: The engine mounts must NOT bend or deflect
from the vertical position, damage to the mount will occur.
- Install the mount to the transmission (1).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the retaining bolts (5) that secure the mount (4) to
the transmission.
Tighten
Tighten the retaining bolts to 58 N·m
(43 lb ft).
- Install the retaining nuts (6) that secure the mount (4)
to the transmission.
Tighten
Tighten the retaining nuts to 25 N·m
(18 lb ft).
Important: Align the transmission support bracket marks
to the frame rail marks.
- Install the transmission support (4) to the vehicle.
- Install the retaining bolts that secure the transmission support (4)
to the vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the retaining bolts to 58 N·m
(43 lb ft).
- Install the retaining nut (3) that secures the mount (4)
to the transmission support.
Tighten
Tighten the retaining nut to 25 N·m
(18 lb ft).
- Remove the transmission jack.
- Lower the vehicle.
