Electronic Suspension Rear Position Sensor Replacement - Left Side HSV
Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
- Remove the rear wheels. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Disconnect the rear position sensor harness connector (1)
from the rear position sensor.
- Disconnect the rear position sensor link (2) from the lower control
arm ball stud (3).
- Remove the rear ball stud retaining nut (4) on the inside of the
lower control arm (5).
- Remove the rear ball stud (3).
- Remove the rear position sensor retaining screws (1).
- Remove the rear position sensor (2) from the rear suspension assembly (3).
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear position sensor (2) onto the
rear suspension assembly (3).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the rear position sensor retaining screws (1).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 5 Nm (44 lb in).
- Install the ball stud (3) into the lower control
arm (5) and install the nut (4).
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 12 Nm (106 lb in).
- Connect the rear position sensor link (2) to the lower control
arm ball stud (3).
- Connect the rear position sensor harness connector (1) to rear
position sensor.
- Install the rear wheels. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Test the ESC System. Refer to
Diagnostic Starting Point - Electronic Suspension Control.
