Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 777351  Size: SH
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the park brake cable from the rear brake caliper. Refer to Park Brake Cable Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 790034  Size: SH
  5. Remove the brake caliper and bracket assembly. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 748573  Size: SH
  7. Remove the rear brake rotor.

  8. Object Number: 790168  Size: SH
  9. Remove the park brake shoe.

  10. Object Number: 790949  Size: SH
  11. Remove the rear drive axle. Refer to Rear Axle Shaft Replacement .

  12. Object Number: 370688  Size: SH
  13. Remove the retaining nuts from the support .
  14. Remove the support from the rear axle housing.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 370688  Size: SH
  1. Install the support to the axle housing flange.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the support nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the support nuts to 135 N·m (100 lb ft).

  5. Install the rear drive axle. Refer to Rear Axle Shaft Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 790168  Size: SH
  7. Install the park brake shoe.

  8. Object Number: 748573  Size: SH
  9. Install the rear brake rotor.

  10. Object Number: 790034  Size: SH
  11. Install the brake caliper and bracket assembly. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement .

  12. Object Number: 777351  Size: SH
  13. Install the park brake cable to the rear brake caliper. Refer to Park Brake Cable Replacement .
  14. Adjust the park brake shoe. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment .
  15. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  16. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
