Transfer Case Front Output Shaft Speed Sensor Replacement TrailBlazer, Envoy, Rainier

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Remove the fuel tank shield, if equipped. Refer to Fuel Tank Shield Replacement.



3. Remove the transfer case front speed sensor electrical connector.



4. Remove the transfer case front speed sensor.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




1. Install the transfer case front speed sensor.

Tighten
Tighten the speed sensor to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).




2. Install the transfer case front speed sensor electrical connector.
3. Install the fuel tank shield, if equipped. Refer to Fuel Tank Shield Replacement.
4. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.



2. Disconnect the transfer case front speed sensor electrical connector.



3. Remove the transfer case front speed sensor.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




1. Install the transfer case front speed sensor.

Tighten
Tighten the speed sensor to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).




2. Connect the transfer case front speed sensor electrical connector.
3. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
