Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 871952  Size: SH
  1. Push the evaporative emission (EVAP) pipe quick connect fitting retainer inward.

  2. Object Number: 898353  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the EVAP pipe from the EVAP purge solenoid.

  4. Object Number: 898326  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the EVAP purge solenoid electrical connector (1)

  6. Object Number: 389993  Size: SH
  7. Remove the EVAP purge solenoid bolt (2).
  8. Remove the EVAP purge solenoid (3) and insulator (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 389993  Size: SH
  1. Install the insulator (1) on the EVAP canister purge solenoid (3).
  2. Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid (3).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid bolt (2).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10.5 N·m (93 lb in).

  6. Connect the EVAP purge solenoid electrical connector (1)

  7. Object Number: 898353  Size: SH
  8. Connect the EVAP pipe to the EVAP purge solenoid.
