J 24319-B Steering Linkage and Tie Rod Puller

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 744328  Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the shock module yoke to lower control arm mounting nut.

  4. Object Number: 743091  Size: SH
  5. Install J 24319-B to the shock module yoke to lower control arm stud.
  6. Disconnect the shock module yoke from the lower control arm using J 24319-B .

  7. Object Number: 744322  Size: SH
  8. Remove the shock module yoke to shock absorber pinch bolt and nut.

  9. Object Number: 744324  Size: SH
  10. Spread the shock module yoke at the pinch bolt using a flat bladed tool.
  11. Remove the shock module yoke from the shock absorber.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 744322  Size: SH
  1. Install the shock module yoke to the lower control arm stud and shock absorber.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the shock module yoke to shock absorber pinch bolt and nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the shock module yoke to shock absorber pinch bolt to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

  5. Install the shock module yoke to lower control arm mounting nut.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the shock module yoke to lower control arm mounting nut to 110 N·m (81 lb ft).

  7. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
