Mode Valve Actuator Replacement - Console for Isuzu Ascender - 4WD 2003
Removal Procedure
- Remove the floor console. Refer to
Console Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Rotate the console.
- Remove the screw from the air outlet duct.
- Remove the air outlet duct from the floor console.
- Remove the rear mode actuator retaining screws.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the rear mode actuator.
Installation Procedure
- Install the mode actuator.
- Connect the electrical connector.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screws to the mode actuator.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).
- Install the air outlet duct to the console.
- Install the screw to the air outlet duct.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).
- Install the console. Refer to
Console Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Recalibrate the mode actuator. Refer to
Actuator Recalibration
