Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 740912 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the underhood lamp.
  2. Remove the underhood lamp from the hood by releasing the retaining tabs.
  3. Remove the underhood lamp wiring harness from the hood and hinge.

    4. Object Number: 740913 Size: SH
  4. Remove the ground terminal retaining bolt (1) from the hood.

    5. Object Number: 743495 Size: SH
  5. Remove the push-pin retainers (2) from the hood and insulation.
  6. Remove the insulation from the tabs (1) and remove the insulation from the hood.

    7. Object Number: 740670 Size: SH
  7. Using a grease pencil or other suitable marking device, mark the position of the hood to the hinges (3).
  8. With the aid of an assistant, remove the 4 bolts (2) that retain the hood hinges to the hood.
  9. With the aid of an assistant, remove the hood from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. With the aid of an assistant, position the hood to the vehicle.
  2. Partially install the 4 bolts (2) that retain the hood to the hinges (3).

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. With the aid of an assistant, position the hood to the hinges at the previously marked locations.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  4. Install the hood insulation to the hood.
  5. Install the push-pin retainers (2).

    6. Object Number: 740912 Size: SH
  6. Install the underhood lamp wiring harness to the hood and hinge as previously routed.
  7. Install the underhood lamp to the hood by seating the retaining tabs.
  8. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the underhood lamp.

    9. Object Number: 740913 Size: SH
  9. Install the ground terminal retaining bolt (1) to the hood.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (7 lb ft).
