Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 731622  Size: SH

    Notice: Use care when handling the coil springs in order to avoid chipping or scratching the coating. Damage to the coating will result in premature failure of the coil springs.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Install the rear axle support.
  3. Remove the shock absorber lower mounting bolts.

  4. Object Number: 731666  Size: SH

    Notice: Do not lower the rear axle so that the upper control arms contact the frame. Damage to the upper control arms will result.

  5. Lower the rear axle.
  6. Remove the rear coil springs.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear coil springs.
  2. Raise the rear axle.

  3. Object Number: 731622  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the shock absorber lower mounting bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the shock absorber lower mounting bolts to 80N·m (59 lb ft).

  6. Remove the rear axle support.
  7. Lower the vehicle
