Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Verify the heated mirrors inoperative fault is present.

Do the heated mirrors operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Does the rear window defogger operate properly?

Go to Step 4

Go to Symptoms - Stationary Windows

1. Remove the appropriate mirror face. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Glass Replacement .
2. Start the engine.
3. Connect a test lamp between the circuits of the appropriate mirror face.
4. Activate the rear window defogger switch.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

1. Disconnect the appropriate mirror from the door module.
2. Connect a test lamp between the mirror heater control and the mirror heater ground circuit pins of the appropriate door module.
3. Activate the rear window defogger switch.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the outside rearview mirror face. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the appropriate door module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the appropriate outside rearview mirror face. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Glass Replacement .
