Removal Procedure
  1. Swing open the endgate.
  2. Remove the endgate trim panel. Refer to Endgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the endgate inner panel reinforcement. Refer to Endgate Inner Panel Reinforcement Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 1229113 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the lock cylinder.
  5. Use a flat-bladed tool to depress the retainers (3) on the lock cylinder to release it from the slots (1) license plate pocket.
  6. Remove the lock cylinder from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
  1. Code the new lock cylinder. Refer to Key and Lock Cylinder Coding in General Information.

    2. Object Number: 1229113 Size: SH
  2. Install the lock cylinder to the vehicle.
  3. Press the lock cylinder into the license plate pocket until the retainers (3) are fully seated in the slots (1) of the license plate pocket.
  4. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the lock cylinder.
  5. Install the inner panel reinforcement. Refer to Endgate Inner Panel Reinforcement Replacement .
  6. Install the inner trim panel. Refer to Endgate Trim Panel Replacement .
