Console Replacement Buick

1. Block the wheels to prevent the vehicle from moving.
2. Remove the rubber ash tray inserts and rubber mat from the console.
3. Remove the floor shift control knob. Refer to Floor Shift Control Knob Replacement.
4. Remove the center console shift lever bezel, Buick only. Refer to Console Shift Lever Bezel Replacement.
5. Remove the console storage compartment. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement.



6. Remove the center console retaining screws.
7. Adjust the parking brake to the full-up, or fully engaged position.
8. Release the 2 forward trim extensions ears attached to the lower instrument panel (I/P), Buick only.
9. Slide the console rearward and raise the rear of the console in order to expose the electrical connectors.
10. Disconnect the electrical connectors, as necessary.
11. Adjust the parking brake to approximately the halfway position.
12. Remove the center console from the vehicle.
13. If replacing the floor console base, remove the following and retain for transfer:

13.1.

Remove the HVAC control module (if equipped).

13.2.

Remove the armrest.

13.3.

Remove the HVAC module and duct assembly.

13.4.

Remove the cupholder.

13.5.

Remove the HVAC upper duct.

1. If replacing the floor console base, install the following:

1.1.	Install the HVAC upper duct.

1.2.	Install the cupholder.

1.3.	Install the HVAC module and duct assembly.

1.4.	Install the armrest.

1.5.	Install the HVAC control module (if equipped).

2. Position the center console to the vehicle.
3. Adjust the parking brake to the full-up, or fully engaged position.
4. Connect the electrical connectors, as necessary.
5. Lower the rear of the console and slide the console forward into position.
6. Ensure that the 2 retaining ears on the front extensions of the console are fully engaged to the lower I/P, Buick only.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

7. Install the center console retaining screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

8. Install the console storage compartment. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement.
9. Install the center console shift lever bezel, Buick only. Refer to Console Shift Lever Bezel Replacement.
10. Install the floor shift control knob. Refer to Floor Shift Control Knob Replacement.
11. Install the rubber ash tray inserts and rubber mat to the console.
12. Remove the blocks from the vehicle.

Console Replacement Chevrolet, GMC, Isuzu

1. Block the wheels to prevent the vehicle from moving.
2. Remove the rubber ash tray inserts and rubber mat from the console.
3. Remove the floor shift control knob. Refer to Floor Shift Control Knob Replacement.
4. Remove the console storage compartment. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement.



5. Remove the center console retaining screws.
6. Adjust the parking brake to the full-up, or fully engaged position.
7. Slide the console rearward and raise the rear of the console in order to expose the electrical connectors.
8. Disconnect the electrical connectors, as necessary.
9. Adjust the parking brake to approximately the halfway position.
10. Remove the center console from the vehicle.
11. If replacing the floor console base, remove the following and retain for transfer:

11.1.

Remove the HVAC control module (if equipped).

11.2.

Remove the armrest.

11.3.

Remove the HVAC module and duct assembly.

11.4.

Remove the cupholder.

11.5.

Remove the HVAC upper duct.

1. If replacing the floor console base, install the following:

1.1.	Install the HVAC upper duct.

1.2.	Install the cupholder.

1.3.	Install the HVAC module and duct assembly.

1.4.	Install the armrest.

1.5.	Install the HVAC control module (if equipped).

2. Position the center console to the vehicle.
3. Adjust the parking brake to the full-up, or fully engaged position.
4. Connect the electrical connectors, as necessary.
5. Lower the rear of the console and slide the console forward into position.
