Warning: Refer to Brake Dust Warning in the Preface section.

1. Remove the rear brake shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement.



2. Disconnect the brake pipe fitting (1) from the wheel cylinder.

Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the wheel cylinder inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.




3. Remove the wheel cylinder bolts (1).



4. Remove the wheel cylinder (1).

1. Install the wheel cylinder (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




2. Install the wheel cylinder bolts (1) and tighten to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).



3. Connect the brake pipe fitting (1) to the wheel cylinder and tighten to  19 N·m (14 lb ft).
4. Install the rear brake shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement.
5. Bleed the wheel cylinder. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
