  1. If removed, apply threadlocker GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) to the shift shaft plugs.
  2. Using a suitable driver, install the shift shaft plugs into the transmission front case.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the backup lamp switch, with the gasket, into the transmission case. Tighten the backup lamp switch to 44 N·m (32 lb ft).
