1. Chime Malfunction |
The IPC generates the vehicle audible warning through an internal acoustic chime producer. The IPC receives audible warning requests via the serial data circuit from the body control module (BCM).

Important: Before performing this diagnostics, make sure no indicator(s) are illuminated after the IPC performs the displays test. If any indicators are illuminated after the bulb test, perform the indicator diagnostics before this diagnostic.
⇒ | If not Inactive, refer to Headlamps Malfunction. |
⇒ | If not Off, refer to Park, License, and/or Tail Lamps Malfunction. |
⇒ | If not Door Closed, refer to Courtesy Lamps Malfunction. |
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal and the ignition circuit fuse is open, test the signal circuit terminal 4 for a short to ground. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal 4 for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM. |
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
