CPP Switch Signal | P0833 | P0833 | -- | P0833 |
The clutch switch is a normally closed switch, clutch pedal released. The powertrain control module (PCM) detects an ignition voltage on the clutch switch circuit when the clutch switch is closed. The PCM detects 0 volts on the clutch switch circuit when the clutch switch is open, clutch pedal depressed.
DTC P0500 is not set.
The PCM detects 7 changes in vehicle speed greater than 38 km/h (24 mph) without the PCM detecting a clutch pedal transition.
• | DTC P0833 is a Type B DTC. |
• | The PCM disables cruise control. |
• | The PCM disables power take-off. |
DTC P0833 is a Type B DTC.

Ignition ON, observe the scan tool CPP Switch parameter while applying and releasing the clutch pedal. The reading should change between applied and released.
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal and the fuse is open, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal A for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the PCM. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the PCM. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, replace the CPP switch. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, replace the CPP switch. |
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the repair.
