Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 213188 Size: SH
  1. Remove the clamp assemblies to and from the exhaust pipe as used.
  2. Remove the bolts securing the muffler and hanger from the hanger brackets and remove the muffler assembly from the exhaust pipe and the hangers.

    3. Object Number: 206335 Size: SH
  3. Inspect all of the components for the following conditions:
    4. • Cracks
    • Bends
    • Stripped threads
    • Corrosion damage
    • Leaks
  4. Replace the above components, as necessary.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 213188 Size: SH
  1. Slide the muffler assembly over the exhaust pipe ends.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 206335 Size: SH
  2. Install the muffler hanger bolts.

    3. Tighten

    1. Tighten the exhaust hanger bolts to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the exhaust pipe clamp bolts on diesel engines to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).
