Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 894452  Size: SH
  1. Block the wheels.
  2. Drain all of the air reservoirs. Refer to Air Brake Reservoir Draining .
  3. Important: Tag and label the air lines for later installation.

  4. Remove the air lines from the park control valve (cab mounted). Refer to the following procedures:
  5. •  Hose and Line Replacement - Nylon and Metal Compression
    •  Hose and Line Replacement - Nylon Push-In Type Fitting
    •  Hose and Line Replacement - Flexible
  6. Remove the pin.
  7. Remove the knob.
  8. Remove the park control valve (cab mounted) nut.
  9. Remove the park control valve (cab mounted).
  10. Inspect the air lines for the following conditions. Repair or replace the lines as necessary.
  11. • Damage
    • Kinks
    • Wear

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 894452  Size: SH
  1. Install the park control valve (cab mounted).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the park control valve (cab mounted) nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the park control valve (cab mounted) nut to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  5. Install the knob.
  6. Install the pin.
  7. Install the air lines to the park control valve (cab mounted).
  8. Perform the air leakage test. Refer to Air Brake Park Control Valve Leakage Test .
  9. Perform the operational test. Refer to Parking Control Valve Operational Check .
  10. Remove the wheel blocks.
