J 38185 Hose Clamp Plier

1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
2. Remove the outlet hose clamp from the heater hose.
3. Remove the outlet heater hose from the engine.



4. Remove the hose clamp (2) from the outlet heater hose.
5. Remove the outlet heater hose from the heater core.
6. Remove the outlet heater hose bracket from the cab.



7. Remove the heater hose bracket bolt (1) from the radiator support.



8. Remove the heater hose clamp bolts (1) from the brackets.
9. Using J 38185 , disconnect the heater hose from the heater pipe (2).
10. Remove the heater hose from the vehicle.

1. Install the outlet heater hose into the vehicle.



2. Using J 38185 , connect the heater hose to the heater pipe (2).
3. Install the outlet heater hose clamp to the brackets.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

4. Install the outlet heater hose mounting bolts (1).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).




5. Install the heater hose bracket bolt (1) to the radiator support.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

6. Install the heater hose bracket to the cab.



7. Install the heater hose to the heater core.
8. Install the hose clamp (2) to the outlet heater hose.
9. Install the outlet heater hose to the engine.
10. Fill with engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
