  1. Verify there is fuel in the fuel tank.
  2. Verify the specified fuel filter is properly installed.
  3. Verify the fuel lines are securely connected.
  4. Verify the fuel filter is warm not hot.
  5. Use a clean cloth to remove dirt and oil from the fuel filter head and breather valve.
  6. Important: The fuel prime valve (3) plays no role is the air bleeding procedures. Do not touch the valve under any circumstances.

  7. Inspect the fuel filter for leakage.
  8. Use the palm of your hand to repeatedly press and release the plunger (1) at the top of the fuel filter priming pump until the plunger becomes firm. Depending on the fuel tank layout, this step may take 20-100 times.
  9. Turn the fuel filter breather valve screw  (2) counterclockwise several turns to open the breather valve.
  10. Use the palm of your hand to repeatedly press and release the plunger (1) at the top of the fuel filter priming pump until fuel begins to seep from the breather valve.
  11. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  12. Turn the fuel filter breather valve screw (2) clockwise several turns to close the breather valve.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the screw (2) to 5 N·m (3.7 lb ft).

  14. Use the palm of your hand to repeatedly press and release the plunger at the top of the fuel filter priming pump to send fuel to the engine. Perform this step 20 times.
  15. Use a clean cloth to remove any fuel from the fuel filter and surrounding area.
  16. Start the engine and allow the engine to idle for a few minutes.
  17. Check the fuel filter for leakage.
