Removal Procedure
Important: For engines equipped with an automatic transmission, the sensor is located at the top rear of the engine. For vehicles equipped with a manual transmission, the sensor (1) is located at the bottom of the engine.
- If required, tilt the cab. Refer to
Cab Tilting
.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor (1).
- Loosen the CKP sensor retaining bolt.
- Remove the CKP sensor and clip.
Installation Procedure
- Install the CKP sensor (1).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the CKP sensor retaining bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the retaining bolt to 5.9 N·m (52 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connector to the CKP sensor.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
- Lower the cab, if required.
