GM Service Manual Online
For 1990-2009 cars only
    • A two-piece design exhaust pipe
    • A single muffler
    • An aluminized steel tail pipe

The standard tail pipe is mounted horizontally on the left side of the vehicle. Caterpillar® 3126 diesel engines use wide band clamps on all of the pipe joints.

The exhaust system is suspended by hangers that are attached to the frame members. The hangers permit some movement of the exhaust system. The hangers should not permit the transfer of noise or vibration into the vehicle.

Heat shields protect the vehicle and the environment from high temperatures.
