Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Go to Step 2

  1. Place the turn signal lever in the LEFT turn position.
  2. Place the turn signal lever in the RIGHT turn position.
  3. Observe the turn signal lamps.

Do the turn signal lamps illuminate and flash in both positions?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

Are both front turn signal lamps or both rear turn signal lamps inoperative only?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the turn signal/hazard switch connector C1.
  2. Connect a fused jumper wire between the turn input circuit of the inoperative side and ground.

Do the turn signal lamps of the affected side illuminate and flash?

Go to Step 6

Test for an open in the turn input circuit of the inoperative side. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Inspect for poor connections at the turn signal/hazard switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Inspect for poor connections at the hazard flasher. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Repair an open in the ground circuit of the inoperative lamps. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 11

Replace the multifunction switch. Refer to Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement .

Replace the hazard flasher.

Did you complete the replacement?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
