Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting .
  2. Remove the cab lock cover.
  3. Securely fasten a strap to the cab lock. Use a hoist or a chain block in order to keep the cab tilted.

  4. Object Number: 215680  Size: SH
  5. Remove the cab tilt support bolt.

  6. Object Number: 215679  Size: SH
  7. Remove the following components from the cab tilt support:
  8. • The pin
    • The washer
    • The cotter pin
  9. Remove the lower bracket.
  10. Remove the cab tilt support.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the cab tilt support to the cab.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the lower bracket and bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  5. Lower the cab until the hole in the cab support inner channel aligns with the top hole in the cab support outer channel.

  6. Object Number: 215679  Size: SH
  7. Install the following components to the cab tilt support:
  8. • The pin
    • The washer
    • The cotter pin

  9. Install the cab tilt support bolt.
  10. Remove the rope strap used to keep the cab tilted.
  11. Lower the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting .
