Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 214222 Size: SH
  1. Remove the bumper fascia nuts and bolts.
  2. Remove the bumper fascia.

    3. Object Number: 214239 Size: SH
  3. Have an assistant support the bumper. Remove the bumper brace nuts and bolts.
  4. Remove the bumper braces.

    5. Object Number: 214233 Size: SH
  5. Remove the impact bar nuts and bolts.
  6. Remove the impact bar.

    7. Object Number: 214242 Size: SH
  7. Remove the nuts and bolts from the bumper energy absorber bracket.
  8. Remove the bumper energy absorber bracket.

    9. Object Number: 214246 Size: SH
  9. Remove the nuts and bolts from the bumper impact bar bracket.
  10. Remove the bumper impact bar bracket.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the bumper impact bar bracket with the nuts and bolts.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 162 N·m (120 lb ft).


    Object Number: 214242 Size: SH
  2. Have an assistant hold the bumper in place. Install the bumper energy absorber bracket with the nuts and bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).


    Object Number: 214233 Size: SH
  3. Install the bumper impact bar with the nuts and bolts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 67 N·m (49 lb ft).


    Object Number: 214239 Size: SH
  4. Install the bumper braces with the nuts and bolts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).


    Object Number: 214222 Size: SH
  5. Install the bumper fascia with the nuts and bolts.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
