Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Turn ON the ignition.
  2. Operate the windshield wiper/washer switch to the LOW speed position.
  3. Operate the windshield wiper/washer switch to the OFF position.

Do the windshield wiper arms return to the park position?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Operate the windshield wiper/washer switch to the LOW speed position.
  3. Using a test lamp connected to battery positive voltage backprobe the park switch signal circuit terminal in the multifunction switch connector C2.

Does the test lamp illuminate when the wipers are out of the park position?

Go to Step 8

Test the park switch signal circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Test the park switch ground circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 6

Inspect for poor connections at the windshield wiper motor. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 7

Replace the windshield wiper motor. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 10

Inspect for poor connections at the multifunction switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Replace the multifunction switch. Refer to Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 10

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
