The cruise engagement switch is part of the multifunction lever assembly. The cruise control switch is not serviceable. This switch and the multifunction lever must be replaced as an assembly. Refer to Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.

For the auto cruise ON/OFF switch, perform the following:

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 215548  Size: SH
  1. Remove the cluster trim. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Remove the switch plate screw.
  3. Pull down on the switch plate so that the switch plate tab is disengaged from the dash. Remove the switch plate from the dash enough to gain access to the switch electrical connector.
  4. Disconnect the switch electrical connector.
  5. Squeeze the switch tabs and remove the switch from the switch plate.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the switch into the switch plate.
  2. Connect the switch electrical connector.
  3. Position the switch plate tab into the dash tab locator and secure the switch plate to the dash with the screw.
