Tools Required

    • J 28721-909 Truck Wheel Bearing Locknut Wrench 3 ¾ in.
    • J 28721-910 Truck Wheel Bearing Locknut Wrench.
    • J 28721-911 Truck Wheel Bearing Locknut Wrench
    • J 28721-913 Truck Wheel Bearing Locknut Wrench 3 7/8 in 8 pt.
    • J 45107 Tone Ring Remover/Installer
    • J 36214 Axle Stud Cone Plier

Caution: Refer to Brake Dust Caution in the Preface section.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  2. Remove the brake caliper mounting plate. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Mount Plate Replacement .
  3. Remove the axle shaft. Refer to Rear Axle Shaft and/or Gasket Replacement .
  4. Remove the spindle high tension wheel nut using one of the following:
  5. • J 28721-909
    • J 28721-910
    • J 28721-911
    • J 28721-913
  6. Remove the hub/rotor assembly. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement .
  7. Remove the wheel speed sensor ring using the J 45107 .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 795298  Size: SH
  1. Install the wheel speed sensor ring using the (1) J 45107 .

  2. Object Number: 795301  Size: SH
  3. Install the hub/rotor assembly. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement .
  4. Install the spindle high tension wheel nut using on of the following:
  5. • J 28721-909
    • J 28721-910
    • J 28721-911
    • J 28721-913
  6. Install the axle shaft. Refer to Rear Axle Shaft and/or Gasket Replacement .
  7. Install the brake caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement .
  8. Install the tire/wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
