Intermediate Pipe Replacement With LG4

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 213183  Size: SH
  1. Loosen the clamps from the muffler and the flex pipe.
  2. Slide the clamps from the muffler and the flex pipe.

  3. Object Number: 213188  Size: SH
  4. Remove the rear exhaust pipe.
  5. Inspect all of the components for the following conditions:
  6. • Cracks
    • Bends
    • Stripped threads
    • Corrosion damage
    • Leaks
  7. Replace the above components, as necessary.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 213188  Size: SH
  1. Slide the clamp assemblies over the rear exhaust pipe.
  2. Install the rear exhaust pipe.

  3. Object Number: 213183  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the clamp assemblies on the rear exhaust pipe.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts on the wide band clamp to 73 N·m (54 lb ft).

Procedure

Replace the intermediate pipe gaskets. Do not reuse.
