Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1992674 Size: SH
  1. Tilt the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting .
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  3. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler. Refer Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Replacement.
  4. Remove the power steering hoses.
  5. Remove the vent hose.
  6. Clean the area around the valve rocker cover to the head cover mating surface.

  7. Remove the valve rocker arm cover bolts.
  8. Remove the valve rocker arm cover and gasket.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the valve rocker arm cover and gasket.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 736638 Size: SH
  2. Install the valve rocker arm cover bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts to 13 N·m (113 lb in).

  3. Install the vent hose.

    4. Object Number: 1992674 Size: SH
  4. Install the EGR cooler. Refer Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Replacement.
  5. Install the power steering hoses.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  7. Lower the cab.
