Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle with safety stands. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the oil pan drain plug and allow the engine oil to drain completely.
  3. Clean the oil pan drain plug surface.
  4. Remove the oil filter from the oil filter adapter and allow the engine oil to drain completely.
  5. Clean the oil filter mounting surface.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Install a new oil filter to the oil filter adapter.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the oil filter to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the oil pan drain plug.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pan drain plug to 78 N·m (58 lb ft).

  3. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  4. Fill the engine with oil. Refer to Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations .
