Makes 🢒 Isuzu 🢒 2007 🢒 Isuzu MD F-Series 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 7.8L 🢒 Valve Rocker Arm and Shaft Assembly Removal

Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement .
  3. Remove the fuel injector harness assembly.

    4. Object Number: 736642 Size: SH
  4. Loosen all the valve adjusters, but do not remove.
  5. Loosen the valve rocker arm shaft bracket bolts evenly, starting from the outer bolts moving to the inner bolts.

    6. Important: Do not remove the rocker arm shaft bolts from the valve rocker arm shaft assembly until the assembly is removed from the vehicle. Place on a work bench before disassembling.

  6. Remove the valve rocker arm shaft assembly.
  7. Remove the valve rocker arm retaining bolt.
  8. Remove the valve rocker arm.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 736642 Size: SH
  1. Install the valve rocker arm on the valve rocker arm shaft.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the valve rocker arm retaining bolt.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the valve rocker arm retaining bolt to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  3. Install the valve rocker arm shaft assembly to the cylinder head.
  4. Tighten the valve rocker arm shaft bracket bolts to:

        • Tighten the valve rocker arm shaft bracket M8 bolts to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).
        • Tighten the valve rocker arm shaft bracket M10 bolts to 56 N·m (41 lb ft).
  5. Adjust the valve rocker arms. Refer to Valve Adjustment .
  6. Install the fuel injector harness.
  7. Install the fuel injector harness bolts.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel injector harness bolts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  8. Install the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement .
  9. Install the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
