Removal Procedure

  1. Tilt the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting .
  2. Remove the fuel filter, without removing the fuel hose. Refer to Fuel Filter Replacement
  3. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement .
  4. Remove the EGR adapter bolts, the EGR adapter nuts, and the EGR valve adapter and gasket from the manifold.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

    Important: Before beginning the installation procedure, carefully inspect the gasket mating surfaces of the EGR valve adapter for cracks and other damage.

  1. Install the new EGR adapter gasket and the EGR adapter to the manifold with bolts and nuts.
  2. Tighten

        • Tighten the EGR adapter M8 bolts and nuts to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).
        • Tighten the EGR adapter M10 bolts and nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
  3. Install the EGR valve. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement .
  4. Install the fuel filter. Refer to Fuel Filter Replacement
  5. Lower the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting .
