Electronic Brake Control Module Configuration Bendix remote diagnostic unit RDU
The EBCM is able to self-configure to multiple ABS systems. The self-configuration process must be initiated when a new EBCM is installed in a vehicle. All system components must be properly connected and functional in order to successfully configure
the EBCM. Use the procedure described below in order to configure the EBCM to the specific vehicle.
- Turn the ignition ON.
- If the vehicle is equipped with traction control (TC), press and release the TC switch.
- Hold the magnet against the (RDU) Reset Area centrally located opposite of the pinout area on the Bendix Remote Diagnostic Unit (RDU).
- Continue to hold the magnet against the Reset center part of the Bendix (RDU) for approximately less than 30 seconds but more than 6 seconds.
- Remove the magnet from the central part of the Bendix Renote Diagnostic Unit (RDU) when the LEDs begin to flash.
- The non-TC configuration process is complete when the Bendix Remote Diagnostic Unit (RDU) displays illuminated FRT, Drive axle, and SEN LEDs. Vehicles configured with TC illuminates FRT, Drive Axle ,SEN and then TRC,MOD.

The self-configuration process must be initiated when a new EBCM is installed
in a vehicle. All system components must be properly connected
and functional in order to successfully configure the EBCM. Use
the procedure described below in order to configure the EBCM to
the specific vehicle.
- Turn the ignition ON.
- If the vehicle is equipped with traction control (TC), press and
release the TC switch.
- Hold the magnet against the switch on the EBCM labeled RESET.
- Continue to hold the magnet against the reset switch for approximately
20 seconds.
- Remove the magnet from the RESET switch when the LEDs begin to
flash.
- The non-TC configuration process is complete when the EBCM displays
illuminated FRT, RER, and SEN LEDs. Vehicles configured with TC illuminates
FRT, RER,SEN and then TRC,MOD.
