Removal Procedure

    Important: Note the position of all the tie-wraps, power steering hoses and the hose insulators for proper installation.

  1. Remove the tie-wraps and the hose insulators.

  2. Object Number: 389803  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the hydraulic brake booster inlet hose (1) from the of the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  4. Disconnect the hydraulic brake booster inlet hose from the hydraulic brake booster. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  5. Remove the hydraulic brake booster inlet hose from vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Do not start the engine with any power steering hose disconnected, or damage to the components could occur.

  1. Install the hydraulic brake booster inlet hose to vehicle. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  2. Connect the hydraulic brake booster inlet hose to the hydraulic brake booster.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Connect the hydraulic brake booster inlet hose to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the hydraulic brake booster inlet hose fittings to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  6. Install the tie wraps and the hose insulators.
  7. Bleed the system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
