J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1013318  Size: SH
  1. Tilt the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting .
  2. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the high pressure switch.

  5. Remove the evaporator hose bolt (1).
  6. Disconnect the evaporator hose from the receiver dehydrator.
  7. Discard the O-ring seal.
  8. Remove the condenser tube bolt (2) from the receiver dehydrator.
  9. Disconnect the condenser tube from the receiver dehydrator.
  10. Discard the O-ring seals.

  12. Remove the receiver dehydrator clamp screw (1).
  13. Remove the receiver dehydrator from the mounting clamp.

Installation Procedure

  1. If replacing the receiver dehydrator add PAG oil. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities .

  2. Object Number: 1013288  Size: SH
  3. Install the receiver dehydrator into the mounting clamp.
  4. Install the clamp screw (1) loosely.
  5. Install the new O-ring seal. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  6. Connect the condenser tube to the receiver dehydrator.
  7. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Install the condenser tube bolt (2).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  10. Tighten the receiver dehydrator clamp bolt.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  12. Install the new O-ring seal. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  13. Install the evaporator hose fitting to the receiver dehydrator.
  14. Install the evaporator hose bolt (1) to the receiver dehydrator.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  16. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the high pressure switch.
  17. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  18. Leak test the fittings of the repaired or reinstalled components using the J 39400-A .
  19. Lower the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting .
