Grease or Oily Stains
This cleaning procedure applies to stains caused by the following substances:
- Carefully scrape off the excess matter.
- Use a solvent type fabric cleaner on the stained area. Refer to
Spot Cleaning Fabric Trim
.
- Shoe polish, wax crayons, tar, and asphalt will stain if left
on the trim. Remove these stains as soon as possible. Use care because the
cleaner may cause the stains to bleed as the cleaner dissolves the stains.
Non-Greasy Stains
These stains include the following substances:
- Carefully scrape off the excess matter.
- Sponge the stain with cool water.
- If a stain remains, use a foam type multi-purpose powered cleaner
to remove the stain. Refer to

.
- If an odor lingers after cleaning vomit or urine, treat the area
using a water/baking soda solution of 5 milliliters (1 teaspoon)
baking soda to 250 milliliters (1 cup) of lukewarm water.
- Finally, if needed, clean lightly using a solvent type fabric
cleaner.
Combination Stains
These stains include the following substances:

- Carefully scrape off the excess matter.
- Clean with cold water.
- Allow the area to dry.
- If a stain remains, clean the stain using a solvent type fabric
cleaner.
