Removal Procedure

  1. Tilt the cab.
  2. Refer to Cab Tilting in General Information.

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4. Drain the coolant.
  5. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  6. Remove the radiator.
  7. Refer to Radiator Replacement .

  8. Remove the charge air cooler.
  9. Refer to Turbocharger.

  10. Remove the radiator support brace nuts and the washers.
  11. Disconnect the braces (2) from the radiator support (1).

  13. Remove the two side mounting bolts.
  14. Remove the support from the vehicle.

  15. Object Number: 209189  Size: SH
  16. Drill out the rivets for the radiator support side baffles.

  17. Object Number: 209216  Size: SH
  18. Remove the lower insulators from the radiator support.

Installation Procedure

  1. Rivet the baffles to the radiator support.

  2. Object Number: 209216  Size: SH
  3. Install a new set of insulators.
  4. Install the radiator support into the vehicle.

  5. Object Number: 209239  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the two side mounting bolts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the radiator support side mounting bolts to 65 N·m (48 lb ft).

  8. Connect the braces (2) to the radiator support (1).
  9. Install the radiator support brace nuts and the washers.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the radiator support brace nuts to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).

  11. Install the charge air cooler.
  12. Install the radiator.
  13. Fill the cooling system.
  14. Lower the cab.
