1. Disconnect the connector at the windshield wiper motor.
2. Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
3. Connect a DMM from windshield wiper motor connector terminal 5 to ground.
4. Place the windshield wiper switch in the low speed position.

Is there continuity?

Go to Step 2

Go to Step 3

Replace the windshield wiper switch.

Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

Keep the windshield wiper switch in the low speed position.

Backprobe the multifunction switch connector with a DMM from terminal 23 to ground.

Is there continuity?

--

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Repair the open in CKT 459 (BRN/WHT) between the multifunction switch and the windshield wiper motor connector.

Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

Replace the multifunction switch.

Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement .
