shaft to the Yoke Flange (4 nut) mounting. Keep the alignment marks together.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install and tighten
the propeller shaft half round end yoke bolts. Refer to
Fastener Tightening Specifications
.
Tighten
Tighten the center bearing mounting bolts to 71 N·m (52 lb ft).
- Install the rear propeller
shaft to the center bearing universal joint, if equipped.
- Install the center bearing assembly to the cross frame. Refer
to
Center Bearing Replacement
.
- Install the propeller shaft guards, if equipped.
- Lubricate the universal joints and the slip joints. Refer to
