Important: The injector must be replaced as an assembly. Do not separate the injector parts. When the fuel system is open to the atmosphere, the system must be bled to remove all of the air. Air in the fuel system will cause a no start or poor engine performance.

  1. Loosen the primer pump knob on the fuel supply pump.

  2. Object Number: 736148  Size: SH
  3. Loosen the fuel feed line eye bolt on the fuel filter.

  4. Object Number: 736687  Size: SH
  5. Pump the primer pump until a solid stream of fuel comes from the fuel filter feed line eye bolt (2).
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Tighten the fuel filter eye bolt.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel filter eye bolt to 41 N·m (31 lb ft).

  9. Loosen the fuel feed line eye bolt (2) on the fuel filter.
  10. Pump the primer pump until a solid stream of fuel comes from the fuel feed line eye bolt (2).
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel filter eye bolt to 41 N·m (31 lb ft).

  12. Loosen the air bleeding plug (1) on the supply pump.
  13. Pump the primer pump until a solid stream of fuel comes from the air bleeding plug (1).
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel filter eye bolt to 41 N·m (31 lb ft).

  15. Pump the primer pump 60 times.
