Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 221372  Size: SH
  1. Block the vehicle wheels.
  2. Remove the parking brake solenoid valve electrical connector.
  3. Position a drain pan in order to catch any fluid that will leak out.
  4. Do not reuse the old fluid.

  5. Remove the hydraulic pipes, If necessary.
  6. Remove the following items from the parking brake solenoid valve:
  7. • The mounting nuts
    • The washers
    • The bolts
  8. Remove the parking brake solenoid valve.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the parking brake solenoid valve.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the parking brake solenoid valve mounting nuts, the washers and the bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the parking brake solenoid valve mounting nuts to 13 N·m (115 lb in).

  5. Install the hydraulic pipes, If necessary.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the hydraulic pipe fittings to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  7. Install the parking brake solenoid valve electrical connector.
  8. Cycle the system.
  9. Check the fluid level. Refer to Checking and Adding Park Brake Fluid .
  10. Remove the wheel blocks.
