    • J 38425 Fan Hub Wrench
    • J 38426 Pulley Strap Wrench

Removal Procedure

  1. Tilt the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 198926  Size: SH
  3. Remove the cooling fan and the fan clutch.Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement In Engine Cooling.
  4. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  5. Object Number: 209225  Size: SH
  6. Remove the upper radiator hose clamp.
  7. Remove the upper hose from the radiator.
  8. Remove the coolant recovery hose from the radiator.
  9. Remove the fan shroud bolts.
  10. Remove the fan shroud.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 209225  Size: SH
  1. Install the fan shroud.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the fan shroud bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fan shroud bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  5. Connect the coolant recovery hose to the radiator.
  6. Install the upper radiator hose to the radiator.
  7. Install the radiator hose clamp.

  9. Install the cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement .
  10. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  11. Lower the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting in General Information.
