Removal Procedure

  1. Tilt the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting in General Information.
  2. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  3. Object Number: 209213  Size: SH
  4. Remove the following components:
  5. 3.1. The radiator recovery hose clamp
    3.2. The radiator recovery hose (1)
    3.3. The surge tank hose clamp
    3.4. The surge tank hose

  6. Remove the bolts and the washers from the mounting bracket to the engine.
  7. Remove the surge tank inlet pipe (1).
  8. Inspect the following components for cracks and leaks:

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the surge tank inlet pipe (1).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the mounting bracket to engine bolts and the washers.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Install the following components to the radiator:
  6. • The recovery hose (1)
    • The recovery hose clamp

    Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  7. Install the following components to the surge tank:
  8. • The inlet hose
    • The inlet hose clamp

    Tighten
    Tighten the inlet hose clamp to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  10. Lower the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting in General Information.
