Removal Procedure
- Tilt the cab. Refer to
Cab Tilting
in General Information.
- Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
- Remove the outlet pipe
flare nut.
- Remove the outlet pipe mounting clamps.
- Remove the following components from the outlet pipe (2):
- Remove the outlet pipe.
Installation Procedure
- Install the outlet pipe
(2).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the outlet pipe flare nut.
Tighten
Tighten the flare nut to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
- Install the following components to the outlet pipe (2):
Tighten
Tighten the clamps to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
- Install the mounting clamps.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
- Lower the cab. Refer to
Cab Tilting
in General Information.
