Removal Procedure

  1. Tilt the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting in General Information.
  2. Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4. Remove the engine mounting nuts and washers from the mounting bracket to the front mount.
  5. Remove the bolts and nuts from the frame to the front mounts.
  6. Important: Provide lifting equipment to safely support and raise the front of the engine as required.

  8. Remove the front mounting cushion, spacers, and washers.
  9. Remove the mounting bracket bolts and washers.
  10. Important: Any vehicle components held in place by the engine mounting fasteners must be supported before the fasteners are removed.

  11. Remove the front mounting bracket from the engine.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the front mounting bracket and bolt to the engine.
  2. Tighten
Tighten the front mounting bracket bolt to 79 N·m (57 lb ft).

  3. Install the mounting bracket bolts and washers.
  4. Tighten
Tighten the mounting bracket bolts and nuts to 64 N·m (47 lb ft).

  5. Install the front engine mounts to the bracket using the nuts and washers to hold them in place.
  6. Lower the engine.
  7. Install the mounting bolts to the frame.
  8. Tighten
Tighten the mounting nuts to 83 N·m (61 lb ft) and tighten the mounting bolts to 36 N·m (26 lb ft).
